Kick-Plates are Solid Brass or Solid aluminum. Lifetime PVD is a special Polished Brass finish applied to aluminumm - almost indistinguishable from Solid Brass and guaranteed not to tarnish for the life of the Kick-Plate.  Magnetic Mounts are available for steel doors (not stainless steel doors), and available Adhesive Mounts adhere to any smooth surface. Normally, however, kick-Plates are shipped with finish-matched Philips-head screws for mounting.
