End-Grain Solid Hard-Rock Maple, finished with Varnique - a good work surface, but not a cutting surface - makes this massive piece rich and substantial.  The base and slatted shelf below are Natural Maple.   Designed to serve as a central kitchen island or food prep station, and providing quick and easy access to and from counters, sinks, refrigerator, and range areas.

The top surface you get is 5" thick solid, END GRAIN, Northern Hard Rock Maple.  It's as strong as they come, but simple to maintain, treated with a Cream Finish

.  Solid 4" square legs, finished in your choice of colors, support the heavy butcher block and provide a substantial look.  Seamless natural maple untensil drawer is hidden in the apron..
