Each mailbox is custom made for you, by hand, in Germany, and each is a work of art reflecting traditional European design and quality. Although no two mailboxes are exactly alike, yours will be very very close to the samples shown here.

These mailboxes are not approved by the USPS, but yout letter carrier will deliver to them without difficulty. Dahlhaus mailboxes are individually made of sand-cast aluminum. An "undercoating" is first applied to each mailbox, followed by at least two additional coats of paint. Finally the additional patina coat is applied last. (Touch-up paint is supplied with each mailbox.) Your choice of eight finishes:

Dahlhaus mailboxes will last a lifetime and carry a limited lifetime manufacturer's warranty (pdf format).

Our photos usually show text reading "Briefkasten" which is German for "Mailbox," but all lettering is customizable, with up to 11 letters on the door and up to 15 letters on the incoming mail slot - specifics on each ordering page. All mailboxes are locking and come with two keys that can be duplicated locally.
