Museum Quality Weathervanes by John Garret Thew
John Garret Thew handcrafts each of his weathervanes in the traditional style, in his workshop in Connecticut. Each piece is a custom made work of art, created from an original hand-carved wood mold. Thew's vanes reflect the work of a true craftsman. He has created over 9,000 of the world's finest weathervanes. His work is offered through museums and art galleries throughout the country. Thew was featured in the 1973 publication "Weathervanes" by Charles Klamkin. Thew's weathervanes are regarded as the finest in the world. Each piece is dated, numbered, and signed by the artist. The copper is left untreated and will weather naturally. A 26" steel roof mount and solid Brass cardinal points are included with each weathervane (see note below). A 32" cupola mount is also available. The copper is left untreated and will weather naturally. Each Thew Weathervane is shipped with brass directional letters, the mount of your choice, and comes equipped with a steel ball-bearing with anti fly-away. |
John Garret Thew's quintessential work, his "Hunter Jumper." It measures 36 in. from nose to heel. |
